Slurry Holding System, Concrete
A circular storage tank constructed of poured-in-place concrete or concrete staves with a concrete floor. This tank will have a side mounted tractor operated centrifugal pump with a small reception pit below it to receive manure from the main storage tank. Initially, the centrifugal pump discharges manure over the top of the tank to agitate the contents of the tank. When agitated, it then will discharge the manure into a hauling vehicle or into a high pressure pump if the manure is to be disposed of through an irrigation system. A reception pit, located near the livestock building, receives the manure from the building and a centrifugal pump agitates the manure and then pumps it underground to this main storage tank. In lieu of a reception pit, a piston pump will receive the manure directly from the animal building and pump the manure as received underground to the main storage tank.
