Slurry Holding System, Concrete Reception Pit

A small concrete rectangular tank to receive manure from a animal confinement building. Generally, these tanks will not be wider than 20 feet, longer than 30 feet, or higher than 6 to 8 feet,with a concrete top. The most common type of pump in these pits is a centrifugal pump that will have an opening in the tank cover of up to 4 feet square. Generally they are intended to hold manure for a week or less before being pumped to the main storage tank.
